What's the difference in Pool Types: Vinyl, Concrete and Fiberglass

Concrete Pools

Benefits:

  • Completely customizable and has great aesthetics
  • Has the most return of investment if you decide to sell your house

Drawbacks:

  • Takes the longest to build and install
  • The highest demand for maintenance
  • Highest cost of ownership, installation, and resurfacing

Vinyl Liner Pools

Benefits:

  • Easier installation with DIY as a possibility
  • Soft comfortable texture
  • Least expensive pool to own and maintain
  • Largely customizable

Drawbacks:

  • Liner may need to be replaced every 7-12 years
  • Liner can stain if the water chemistry isn't properly maintained

Fiberglass

Benefits:

  • Lowest maintenance requirements
  • Quickest installation
  • Least likely to develop algae

Drawbacks:

  • Resurfacing is required down the road
  • Least customization available as well as sizing limits
